☆１５仙台 - Sendai

Welcome Everyone ~♡
Last weekend, which was a long weekend for us in Akita, because monday had been a holiday, I took a bus to visit 仙台! The city won notoriety in march 2011, due to the disastrous earthquake and tsunami catastrophe. By now you can't really tell that there had been any damage, it's a beautiful, lively city and I recommend visiting it to everyone!

Letztes Wochenende, das für uns in Akita sogar ein langes war, da der Montag ein Feiertag war, nahm ich einen Bus um mich ein bisschen in 仙台 umzuschauen! Die Stadt erlangte im März 2011 traurige Berühmtheit durch das verheerende Erdbeben und Tsunami Unglück. Heute kann man nicht mehr wirklich etwas von Schaden sehen, es ist eine wunderschöne, lebhafte Stadt und ich empfehle jedem, dort einmal hinzugehen!

My plan to go there was a bit spontaneous, therefore also chaotic and the first thing that went totally off-plan, was the bus I wanted to take from the campus to the station. It takes longer than I expected to go from the campus to Wada station, therefore I had to take a cab to reach the train to Akita City, where I got on the bus to Sendai. I don't like taking cabs in general, and then I had to take even a japanese cab, you can tell by this burden already, how important it was for me to go to there.

Mein Plan dorthin zu gehen, war ziemlich spontan und deswegen auch sehr chaotisch. Das erste, das schief lief war auch gleich der Bus, den ich eigentlich vom Campus nehmen wollte; es dauert länger, bis nach Wada station, daher musste ich ein Taxi nehmen um den Zug nach Akita City noch zu erwischen, wo ich in den Bus nach Sendai stieg.Ich fahre im Allgemeinen nicht gerne Taxi (schon gar nicht alleine!), und nun musste ich auch noch ein japanisches nehmen, man kann schon daran sehen, wie wichtig es für mich war, nach Sendai zu kommen.

It takes less than 4 hours to go to Sendai from Akita City and I paied 7,200Yen for the roundway, which is cheap, compared to other prices here I think. The bus ride was nice and comfortable, I slept a bit, listened to music and studied some vocabulary. Just like the night bus, around every 2 hrs the bus stops at a roadhouse, that all the passengers are able to go to the bathroom, or get something to drink and eat.
In Sendai the bus stop for the bus coming from Akita is not directly at the main station, you have to walk around a corner and then you'll see it, takes about 5 minutes and you'll get to the first out of quite a number of shopping centers on your way. This was by far the best one I've been to in Sendai, because there were a lot of brands I like located! Go there, if you're interested in japanese fashion!

Von Akita nach Sendai mit dem Bus dauert es etwa 4 Stunden und ich habe für den Rundweg 7,200Yen bezahlt, was ich im Vergleich mit anderen Preisen recht günstig finde. Die Busfahrt war ruhig und gemütlich, ich habe ein bisschen geschlafen, Musik gehört und Vokabeln gelernt. Wie die Nachtbusse auch, hält dieser Bus etwa alle 2 Stunden an einer Raststätte, dass die Passagiere auf die Toilette gehen können, oder sich etwas zu trinken und zu essen kaufen können.
Die Haltestelle für den Bus aus Akita ist in Sendai nicht direkt am Hauptbahnhof, man muss einmal um die Ecke gehen und dann kann man ihn sehen. Es dauert etwa 5 Minuten und auf dem Weg, sieht man schon das erste von zahlreichen anderen Kaufhäusern in Sendai. Das war mit Abstand auch das beste von denen, die ich in Sendai besucht habe, denn einige der Marken die ich mag, waren dort. Geht auf jeden Fall dorthin, wenn ihr euch für Japanische Mode interessiert!

Two things that surprised me right from the beginning; There are a lot of plants, trees and even flowers in Sendai, nearly everywhere I went, I could spot some green which is really relaxing and in my opinion rare in Japan. The other thing is rare in this country too; the benches. Normally in Japan benches are provided rarely, because of reasons I don't know. It's the same with garbage bins; I once was told, that the garbage bins disappeared after 9/11 but I don't know if that's true or not. Fact is; no garbage bins in japanese cities, you have to carry your garbage home (and separate it there!!!)

Zwei Dinge, die mich in Sendai gleich zu Anfang überraschten; Es gibt jede Menge Pflanzen, Bäume und sogar Blumen, nahezu überall wo ich war, konnte ich etwas grün ausmachen, was sehr beruhigend und meiner Meinung nach eher selten ist in Japan. Das andere seltene in diesem Land sind Bänke. Normalerweise gibt es in Japan keine Bänke, aus Gründen die ich nicht weiß. Das selbe gilt übrigens für Mülleimer; in Japan gibt es keine öffentlichen. Mir wurde mal gesagt, dass sie nach dem 11. September abgeschafft wurden, aber ich weiß nicht ob das stimmt. Fakt ist; Man muss seinen Müll nach Hause tragen (und dort ordnungsgemäßg trennen!!!!)

Actually I went to Sendai on this particular day for a reason. Sometime I need to prove to myself that I can achieve certain things - going to Sendai on my own (it was not only the first time being in this city for me, but also the first time traveling alone in Japan at all), meeting someone and survive add up to one of these things and to a great experience. Although I got lost in Sendai on my way to a certain point, because I got confused with my google maps map and strayed around the area like a confused kitty, but in the end, I'm glad I had been there! Especially because I got so much kinda personal input there; not only by the one person I met there, but also by some others.

Eigentlich fuhr ich aus einem bestimmten Grund nach Sendai. Ich muss mir manchmal selbst beweisen, dass ich bestimmte Ziele erreichen kann - ganz allein nach Sendai zu fahren (nicht nur das erste Mal nach Sendai, sondern auch das erste Mal allein in Japan allgemein), jemanden zu treffen und zu überleben, summiert sich zu exakt jenem Ziel und einer großartigen Erfahrung. Obwohl ich mich in Sendai verlaufen habe, weil ich mit meinen google Maps Karten nicht mehr klar kam und herum geirrt bin wie ein verwirtes Kätzchen, im Endeffekt bin ich froh, dort gewesen zu sein!  Besonders, weil ich sehr viel Positives für mich selbst bekommen habe, nicht nur von dem, den ich dort getroffen habe sondern auch von anderen.

Exactly 5 minutes before I had to leave Sendai again, nearly another catastrophe happened. I saw the bus for Akita arriving, it got called by the counter clerk and a line formed. As the nice gaijin I am, I queued up at the end of the new forming line and waited. And waited. And waited. About one minute before my bus was scheduled to leave, I realized, that something was wrong, because my line didn't move any cm!!
I rushed to the front of the line just to see, that the people got on the bus to Akita without a line! At exactly 7.59 am I reached the bus, leaving at 8.00am lol

Exact 5 Minuten bevor ich Sendai eigentlich planmäßig verlassen sollte, passierte beinahe die nächste Katastrophe. Ich habe gesehen wie der Bus für Akita ankam, dann wurde er aufgerufen und ich wollte brave, japanische (*hust*) Bürgerin sein, und habe mich in die Schlange eingereiht. Und gewartet. Und gewartet. Etwa eine Minute bevor der Bus eigentlich schon losfahren sollte, fiel mir dann mal auf, dass sich meine Schlange nicht einen einzigen Zentimeter bewegt hatte!
Ich rannte zum Anfang dere Schlange um zu sehen, wie die Leute in den Bus für Akita ganz ohne Schlange einstiegen. Um 7.59 Uhr habe ich dann auch meinen Zielbus erreicht, der um 8.00 Uhr Abfahrt hatte, und als Letzte meinen Platz eingenommen ... Das passiert, wenn man sich anpassen möchte!

I tried to find pictures, that captured my view on Sendai, but by looking at it now, I'm pretty sure I completely failed. Therefore I really encourage you, to go there! I hadn't had a lot of time, therefore I skipped all of the sightseeing things, concentrated on the reason I went there, but next time I'm going to stay there longer and visit all these nice spots that are located directly in and close to Sendai!

Ich habe versucht Bilder zu finden, die meinen Blick auf Sendai zeigen, aber wenn ich mir diesen Eintrag jetzt ansehe, habe ich komplett versagt. Deswegen ermutige ich wirklich jeden, geht in diese Stadt und seht sie euch selbst an! Ich hatte leider nicht sehr viel Zeit dort, deswegen habe ich so gut wie alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sausen lassen und mich auf den Hauptgrund meines Besuches dort konzentriert, aber das nächste Mal werde ich länger bleiben und all die schönen Orte besuchen, die es in Sendai und in der Nähe gibt!

☆１２ My Room (~★finally!)

So today's entry is finally about my room, what a lot of people had asked me for. Sorry that it took me so long, but it always takes some time for me, to settle down at new places and to feel comfortable with my surrounding, and I didn't want to take pictures before I hadn't had a good feeling around here. Untill now, I'm still not satisfied, but the people who know my old flat probably can imagine how hard it's going to be, to get on the same level (;

So, der heutige Eintrag ist endlich meinen vier Wänden gewidmet, worum mich eine Menge Leute gebeten hatten. Es tut mir Leid, dass es nun doch so lange gedauert hat, aber es dauert immer eine Zeit, bis ich mich an neuen Orten wirklich wohl und 'angekommen' fühle und ich wollte keine Fotos machen, bevor ich hier nicht wenigstens einigem meinen Stempel aufgedrückt habe. Nach wie vor bin ich nicht wirklich zufrieden, aber die Leute, die meine alte Wohnung kennen können sich vermutlich denken, wie schwer es sein wird, daran heranzukommen (;

Starting with the first impression and yes, what you see on the picture is pretty much everything you got here. No closet, only a tiny shelf, a desk with a container (that can't be seen on the picture) and the bed above everything. That is btw not my side of the room, but my roommate's, the other side is exactly the same though and yes, we're sharing this little flat.  I had all my luggage already on my side of the room as I took the picture, therefore the first impression wouldn not be so impressive and shocking (;

Beginnen wir mit dem ersten Eindruck und ja, das was auf dem Bild zu sehen ist, ist so ziemlich alles was man hier an Ausstattung bekommt. Keinen Kleiderschrank, ein winziges Regal, einen Schreibtisch mit einem Container (der auf dem Bild nicht zu sehen ist) und dem Bett über allem. Es ist im Allgemeinen nicht meine Seite des Raums, sonder die meiner Mitbewohnerin, mein Teil sieht aber exakt gleich aus - und ja, wir teilen uns dieses Apartmentteil. Als ich das Foto aufgenommen habe, stand in meinem Teil schon mein Gepäck, daher wäre der erste Eindruck nicht ganz so schockierend und eindrucksvoll gewesen, hätte ich das Foto gewählt (;

On the window board you can see the safes which are provided for your personal, valuable things. I'm always having my cameras, my passport and my money in there.
Auf dem Fensterbrett stehen die Safes, die für die persönlichen Wertgegenstände bereitgestellt werden. Ich bringe dort immer meine Kameras, meinen Pass und mein Geld unter.

Sitting on the windowseat in the morning while having breakfast or just chilling after class is so relaxing, and I do love whoever inspired me to buy these pillows!♥ (Can't remember anymore, where I saw that) You may probably recognize, that nearly everything in here is pink or white, although it is used by both, my roommate (who's not really into pink&white) and me - that's because I bought it.

Auf dem Fensterbrett zu sitzen und zu frühstücken oder einfach nach dem Unterricht ein bisschen zu gammeln ist sooo geil, ich liebe denjenigen, der mich dazu inspiriert hat, die Kissen zu kaufen!♥ (Ich hab leider keine Ahnung mehr, wo ich das gesehen habe) Man könnte sich eventuell darüber wundern, dass hier nahezu alles pink und / oder weiß ist, obwohl es von meiner Mitbewohnerin (die nicht so wirklich auf die Farbkombi steht) und mir benutzt wird - aber das liegt daran, dass ich es gekauft habe.

Continuing with the kitchen of our baby flat. It is neat, compared to other kitchens, and it's a non-gas stove - what is definately the best thing about it. As you can see, there's not muc space for anything, my rooommate bought the cupboard, otherwise we would have been totally lost with our stuff because you do need some things in your kitchen, right?

Weiter geht's mit der Küche in unserer Miniwohnung. Sie ist sauber, im Vergleich zu anderen, und es ist kein Gasherd - das ist definitiv das Beste daran. Wie man sieht ist nicht sonderlich viel Platz für irgendwas. Meine Mitbewohnerin hat das Regal gekauft, sonst wären wir ziemlich verloren mit unserem Zeug, denn eigentlich braucht man schon das Eine oder Andere in der Küche, oder?

That's probably not the best solution and I'm still looking for a better one, as my food is in the box standing on the ground and I don't like that. But the worst thing in the kitchen is for sure the fridge, because it's acutally to small to be useful. My mum already told me, that it doesn't look that worse on the picture, but actually it's hard to get even 10 eggs in this fridge if you want to store something else as well! On that account my roommate and me are more likely to buy fruits, because they do not need to be in the fridge...
Another disturbing thing is the fact, that we have only one hot plate, what's inconvenient for cooking as you can imagine.

Das ist höchstwahrscheinlich nicht die beste Lösung und ich suche noch nach einer besseren, da mein Essen in der Box auf dem Boden steht und ich das nicht mag. Aber das schlimmste an der Küche ist auf jeden Fall der Kühlschrank, der nämlich so winzig ist, dass er eigentlich gar nicht nützlich sein kann. Muttißen hat mir bereits gesagt, dass es auf dem Foto gar nicht so schlimm aussieht, aber es ist schon schwer, 10 Eier in dieses Ding zu bekommen, wenn man noch andere Dinge verstauen möchte! Daher kaufen meine Mitbewohnerin und ich auch eher Obst, da das nicht unbedingt in den Kühlschrank muss...
Ein weiterer Störfaktor ist die Tatsache, dass wir nur eine Herdplatte haben, was zum Kochen nun nicht gerade geil ist, wie man sich denken kann.

The next picture is only for those, who always ask me about the japanese toilets. Here you go! No particular special function and it doesn't even have music, I was slightly disappointed.

Und das nächste Bild ist extra für diejenigen, die mich immer nach den japanischen Toiletten fragen. Und nein, keinen Schleudersitz! : D Leider auch keine special Funktionen,noch nicht einmal Musik. Ich war ein bisschen enttäuscht.

For those of you, who are not familiar with the japanese way of taking a shower, I'll shortly explain it. You're supposed to change your clothes in the room you can see on the picture below. Then go in to the actual shower room and shower in front of the bathtub, not in (like I would to it, becaue that's the german way I guess) it. It's because japanese people wash themselves before they're going to take a bath, as the hot water is shared with everyone else, living in the same flat. So you wash yourself and then sit in the hot water for some time. After it, you cover the bathtub with the cover, that the water stays hot, leave the bathroom and dress again. Got it? The good thing is, hey you can take a shower in front of the mirror! The bad thing is, well the whole bathroom is underwater and it takes sometime to dry.

Für diejenigen die mit der japanischen Art zu duschen nicht vertraut sind, erkläre ich es kurz. Es wird erwartet, dass man seine Kleidung in den Raum lässt, den ihr auf dem Bild unten seht. Dann geht man in den richtigen Duschraum und duscht vor der Badewanne (nicht in der Wanne, wie ich es tun würde, da es wohl die deutsche Art zu duschen ist). Das ist so, weil Japaner sich erst vor der Badewanne waschen, und dann in die heiße Wanne steigen, da das warme Wasser mit allen anderen Bewohnern der Wohnung geteilt wird. Man wäscht sich also, setzt sich dann etwas in das warme Wasser und deckt die Wanne wieder zu, wenn man fertig ist, dass das Wasser warm bleibt. Dann geht man eben wieder, zieht sich an etc.pp Verstanden? Das gute hieran ist; hey man kann vor dem Spiegel duschen! Das schlechte daran ist; na ja, das Bad steht unter Wasser und es dauert etwas, bis es wieder trocken ist.

As we started at the window, we're ending at the other end of the flat and that's the way downstairs, as we're living on the 2nd floor. Pretty steep isn't it? I already mastered the stairs with high heels and after a party, but I'm sure they get me one day. smile Just too clumsy to survive this without injuries.

Da wir beim Fenster angefangen haben, hören wir am anderen Ender der Wohnung auf, und das ist der Weg nach unten, da wir im 2. Stock wohnen. Ziemlich steil, nicht wahr? Ich habe sie bereits in HighHeels und nach einer Party gemeistert, aber ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass die Treppe irgendwann gewinnen wird. Ich bin zu tollpatschig, um das ohne Verletzungen zu überstehen.

As I already mentioned in the beginning, it's not really like I want it to have, but for the moment I'm so-so okay with it. Few things are occassionally changed and well, I'm not living here forever.
That's it for today, I'm having a day off tomorrow, that is already packed with japanese studying stuff, hope you're having some more spare time!

Wie bereits zu Anfang erwähnt, bin ich damit noch nicht wirklich zufrieden, aber für den Moment ist es so lala okay. Manche Dinge werden bei Gelegenheit geändert, und immerhin lebe ich hier nicht für immer.
Das war's dann auch schon für heute. Ich habe moren einen freien Tag, der leider schon mit Japanisch zugepflastert ist, hoffentlich habt ihr ein wenig mehr Freizeit!
