☆１８ The AIU Festival - Day 1

Welcome back!♡
Going on with the actual festival days for the AIU festival. I hope you can at least a bit imagine, what a great atmosphere we had and how much effort everyone put into this!
Once again I feel so sorry for not being able to take better pictures, but I hopefully improve one day! Some of the pictures are taken by my friends and I've stolen them - if done so, I wrote it underneath. Nothing much to say though, guess the pictures speaking for themselves!

Machen wir mit den zwei Tagen des eigentlichen Festivals weiter. Ich hoffe, man kann sich wenigstens ein bisschen vorstellen, was für eine schöne Atmosphäre wir hatten, und wie viel Arbeit hinter allem steckt.
Wieder einmal tut es mir Leid, dass ich so eine schlechte Fotografin bin, aber hoffentlich werde ich eines Tages besser! Manche der Bilder wurden von meinen Freunden aufgenommen und ich habe sie mir frech gemopst - wenn dem so war, habe ich es darunter geschrieben. Sonst habe ich nicht so viel zu erzählen, ich denke, die Bilder sprechen für sich!

A lot of dance groupes prepared performances and as I'm totally untalented for dancing, I think all of them were simply amazing! Some people even took part in several dance groups - I was completely impressed. lol
Viele Tanzgruppen haben Vorführungen vorbereitet und da ich komplett unatelentiert im Tanzen bin, fand ich sie alle wahnsinnig gut! Manche der Tänzer haben sogar an verschiedenen Aufführungen teilgenommen - ich war völlig beeindruckt. lol

Babahera Icecream seems to be special for Akita and it's always sold by elderly women. Rina explained to me, that the name comes from the saying, that the older women give something back or something like that? She wasn't sure herself, but I think it's a nice story! Baba is japanese for 'grandmother'.

Für Akita ist Babahera Eis wohl berühmt und es wird immer von älteren Frauen verkauft. Ich habe Rina mal danach gefragt und sie erklärte mir, dass es wohl daher kommt, dass die älteren Damen jüngeren etwas geben? Daher auch der Name, Baba ist japanisch for 'Großmutter. Ich finde das ziemlich cool!

Es wurde auch so viel leckeres Essen verkauft! Auf dem oberen Bild trinken wir leckeren Milchtee mit Tapioka (das sind die schwarzen Bobbels, die sind lustig, schmecken aber nach nicht viel.)

Mizuha is one of the students from AIU who studied at my home university in Germany for one year, and I'm so glad that she's here with me, too!!! Two of my other japanese friends are still studying in Germany for 6months and come back to AIU after it - I'm sooo looking forward to it! ♥ Naoko, another girl who studied at my university is here, too and she asked me, to study german with her again!

Mizuha ist einer der Studentinnen von der AIU, die für ein Jahr an meiner Uni in Deutschland studiert hat und wir haben dort vieles miteinander unternommen. Ich bin so froh, dass sie hier ist!!! Zwei meiner anderen japanischen Freunde sind noch in Deutschland, kommen aber in einem halben Jahr auch wieder hier her zurück - ich freue mich schon so darauf! ♥ Naoko, eine andere Studentin die für ein Jahr an meiner Uni war, hat mich gebeten, wieder deutsch mit ihr zu lernen!

There's one thing you need to know about Taiyaki; I'm fucking CRAZY about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a kind of waffle, filled with different fillings, the original one is - of course - anko, the red bean paste, but you get them with chocolate or custard filling, too! I love waffles, I love anko, I love the cute fish style.... I wanted to eat that in Yokohama but we couldn't manage to get it, so FINALLY ♥ First time for me, this time in Japan and it was awwwwwesome!
Es gibt eine Sache, die man über Taiyaki wissen muss: ICH LIEBE ES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Es ist eine Art WAffel, die mit verschiedenen Füllungen gefüllt wird (aha.), das traditionellste ist -natürlich- Anko, also Rote Bohnen Paste, aber man bekommt sie auch mit Vanillepudding oder Schokolade gefüllt. Ich liebe Waffeln, ich liebe Anko, ich liebe dieses süße Fischförmchen... Wir wollten eigentlich welche in Yokohama essen, aber leider haben wir es nicht geschafft, also war es ENDLICH das erste Mal für mich, dieses Mal in Japan und es war LECKER!♥

As you can see, the Haunted House was a complete success and I'm proud of everyone, who worked there! お疲れ様でした！(otsukaresamadeshita means 'good work')
That's it for now again :) The pictures of Day 2 of the AIU festival are hopefully following soon, although I'm facing a tough week with MidTerms, LessonTests and and and... Nonetheless; giving my best every day to make everyone at home proud :)

Wie man sieht, war das Geisterhaus ein voller Erfolg und ich bin stolz auf alle, die dort mitgearbeitet haben! お疲れ様でした! (otsukaresamadeshita heißt in etwa 'Gute Arbeit')
Das war es dann für heute auch schon wieder. Die Bilder von Tag 2 folgen hoffentlich bald, obwohl ich eine ziemlich harte Woche mit Zwischenprüfungen, Lektionstesten und und und vor mir habe... Dennoch; ich gebe jeden Tag mein Bestes um alle daheim stolz zu machen :)

☆１７ The AIU Festival - preparations

Hello Lovelies ~♡
With today's post I'm starting to write about the AIU Festival and as there are a lot of pictures following, I'm going to split it up into two or three parts, starting with the preparations now and going on to Day 1 and Day 2 probably, not sure about that yet.
I already mentioned in the last entry a bit of the general things and now there are some pictures to emphasize everything. Enjoy!

Mit dem heutigen Post beginne ich über das AIU Festival zu schreiben und da eine Menge Fotos folgen werden, habe ich beschlossen, das Thema in zwei oder drei Einträge zu teilen, beginnend mit dem heutigen Post über die Vorbereitungen. Folgen werden dann wohl Tag 1 und Tag 2, wobei ich mir hier noch nicht sicher bin.
Ich habe bereits im letzten Post einige der grundlegenden Dinge erwähnt und nun kommt alles mit Bildern, um es zu unterstreichen. Auf geht's!

As I didn't belong to one of the special preparation teams or committes, I joined Klara at her work for the Haunted House. Therefore most of my pictures are of course taken at the preparations for it - I wasn't very keen on jumping around,looking at the other preparations at 4am so, I'm sorry for the lack of pictures, but I can tell you, that everyone was working so hard! Even at 4 or 5am everywhere busy people sat and worked on decorations etc.
It was an amazing feeling being part of it! (well... if you take part in it)
Da ich keinem der zahlreichen Vorbereitungsteams - und komites angehört habe, habe ich mich Klara bei den Vorbereitungen für das Geisterhaus angeschlossen, ergo sind die meisten der Bilder auch dort entstanden - Sorry für den Mangel an anderen Bildern, aber ich war morgens um 4 nicht sonderlich scharf darauf, über den Campus zu hopsen und die anderen Vorbereitungen festzuhalten. Was ich aber sagen kann ist, dass sogar morgens um 4 und 5 die Leute überall noch am Werkeln und Arbeiten waren.
Es ist ein geniales Gefühl, bei so etwas dabei zu sein. (Also wenn man daran teilnimmt halt...)

As you can probably tell from the picture above, I was terribly tired lol That status unfortunately continues untill now, I still haven't caught up all the sleep I had been lacking of as I had to do tons of homework.
The jacket I'm wearing is the official AIU Festival sweater and I love it! Unfortunately I unpurposely changed mine with the one from a guy at the food stall lol So it smells like guy atm
Wie man vielleicht am obigen Bild sehen kann, war ich furchtbar müde lol Leider hält der Zustand bis jetzt an, da ich nach wie vor nicht allen Schlaf nachholen konnte, weil ich haufenweise Hausaufgaben zu erledigen hatte.
Die Jacke die ich auf dem Foto anhabe, ist die offizielle AIU Festival Jacke und ich liebe sie! Unglücklicherweise habe ich meine mit der eines Kerls beim Essenstands verwechselt, deswegen riecht sie derzeit nach Kerl. lol

I wanted to split this entry because I got the impression, that a lot of people can't really estimate the work, that needs to be done for such a festival! It is an amazing event but hell it's exhausting and tiring to prepare it and I felt like someone should appreciate this work. It was fun in the end, but as I experienced, how less some people cared I felt bad for all those people, who put their heart into this work.

Ich wollte den Eintrag aufteilen, weil ich den Eindruck gewonnen habe, dass viele Menschen nicht wirklich einschätzen könnten, wie viel Arbeit solch ein Festival ist. Natürlich ist es ein beeindruckendes Ereignis, aber es ist ermüdend und frustrierend alles vorzubereiten und ich wollte, dass jemand diese Arbeit wertschätzt. Es hat Spaß gemacht im Ende, aber als ich erfahren habe, wie wenig manche Leute davon berührt waren, fand ich das schade für die Menschen, die ihr Herzblut in diese Vorbereitungen gesteckt haben.

As the Haunted House was finished, Klara and me joined some other groups, helping them to finish their projects and as you see, we had fun.
I already wrote it a couple of times, but the atmosphere was so catchy, that I immediately felt like part of the whole thing, although I contributed only a little bit to the success of the festival. It's a great feeling to see, what a group of people could do, with some effort and passion! As school festivals are really common in Japan, the people are used to working like that for it, I  know that it would be impossible in Germany, so that's gonna be a Once in a Lifetime Experience I guess!

That's it for today though! Hopefully I have some time at the weekend to upload the festival pictures!

Als das Geisterhaus fertig vorbereitet, sind Klara und ich zu anderen Gruppen gestoßen, um denen zu helfen und wie ihr sehen könnt, hatten wir Spaß.
Ich habe es bereits einige Male geschrieben, aber die Atmosphäre war so einnehmend, dass ich mich sofort als Teil des Ganzen gefühlt habe, obwohl ich ja wirklich nur einen kleinen Teil beigetragen habe. Es ist schön zu sehen, was eine Gruppe von Leuten mit ein bisschen Anstrengung und Leidenschaft auf die Beine stellen kann. Da Schulfeste wie dieses in Japan sehr häufig sind, sind die Japaner gewöhnt, für so etwas zu arbeiten und ich weiß, dass so etwas unmöglich in Deutschland wäre, es wird also wohl ein einmaliges Erlebnis bleiben.

Das war's dann aber auch für heute schon wieder. Hoffentlich habe ich die Tage ein bisschen Zeit, die anderen Festivalbilder hochzuladen!
