So this morning the Matriculation Ceremony for all the new students at AIU took place and I really enjoyed it! In Germany there normally is no Matriculation Ceremony or anything like that, or at least not that formal and official like it had been today.

Heute Morgen fand endlich die Matrikulations Zeremonie für alle neuen Studenten an der AIU statt und ich habe es sehr genossen! In Deutschland gibt es normalerweise keine Matrikulations Zeremonie und wenn doch, nicht so formell und offiziell wie diese heute.

AIU Matriculation Ceremony ♥[/caption]We had a kind of dress code, although it was okay to appear in jeans if you couldn't meet it, what a lot exchange studens obviously couldn't because they didn't bring a suit or anything like that - what is understandable I think. I had problems finding something suitable, too as the woman who explained us the ceremony told us, girls have to wear skirts. All my skirts are way to short to be formal but oh well... She asked for it!
Es gab sogar einen Dresscode, obwohl es auch okay war in Jeans zu kommen, wenn man keinen Anzug oder ähnliches mitgebracht hatte - was irgendwie verständlich ist. Ich hatte selbst Probleme, was passendes zu finden, da die Dame, die uns die Zeremonie erklärt hat gesagt hat, dass die Mädchen Röcke tragen sollten. Alle meine Röcke sind definitiv zu kurz um formell zu sein, aber sie wollte es so!

A 'formal' Mi // ein 'formelles' Mi[/caption]There's not so much to tell about the ceremony as it was amazingly short (only about one and a half hour) and the program inlcuded a musical performance, Introductions of Honorable Guests and the calling of every name of the new students. When your name was called, we had to stand up, say 'yes' and bow. I was so afraid that I would screw up and do something embarassing instead,(like every other day at least one time) like falling down or anything like that!! But fortunately nothing happened.
Es gibt nicht so viel über die Zeremonie zu sagen, da sie wunderbar kurz war (nur etwa anderthalb Stunden) und das Programm enthielt eine Musikperformance, Vorstellungen von vorstellungswürdigen Gästen und das Aufrufen jedes einzelnen Namen, der neuen Studenten. Wenn der jeweilige Name aufgerufen wurde, musste man aufstehen 'Yes' sagen und sich verbeugen. Ich hatte so Angst, dass mir wieder irgendetwas peinliches passiert (wie grundsätzlich einmal pro Tag), wie etwa umfallen oder so was. Aber glücklicherweise ging alles glatt!!

Guests // Gäste[/caption]After the ceremony there was a fabulous lunch in the cafeteria (for all the people knowing about my dislike of the cafeteria food; no ironie! But I guess the food was from a party service ;) with some other guests and short speeches and even the AIU mascot arrived!! Later we had time to chat with the other students and get to know more of the japanese students, which was pretty fun. They throw us out of the cafeteria, as they had to clean up and that was the end of the party. It was pretty funny and I could meet some new people, which I really enjoyed♥♥
Nach der Zeremonie gab es noch ein wundervolles Mittagessen in der Cafeteria (für alle, die von meiner Abneigung dem Mensaessen gegenüber wissen; Keine Ironie. Ich glaube aber, dass das Essen von einem PartyService war ;) ), mit einigen weiteren Gästen, kurzen Ansprachen und dann kam sogar das AIU Maskotten!! Später hatten wir dann Zeit, mit den anderen Studenten zu plaudern und auch einige der japanischen Studenten kennen zu lernen, was ziemlich Spaß gemacht hat. Als sie aufräumen mussten, haben sie uns aus der Cafeteria geschmissen und das war das Ende der Party. Alles in Allem war es sehr lustig und ich konnte einige neue Leute kennen lernen, was richtig gut getan hat♥♥

Musical Performance // Musikaufführung[/caption]We were even able to take pictures together with ONE, the AIU mascot which is sooo cute!!! It's a green Akita Inu! Would you have recognized it? (Me not, I thought it would be a bear...) I do have a picture with One but honestly... that's way to embarrassing to post it here! :D
Wir durften sogar Bilder mit ONE machen, dem AIU Maskottchen, das ich einfach soooo süß finde! Es stellt einen grünen Akita Inu dar, hättet ihr es erkannt? (Ich nicht, ich dachte das sei ein Bär....) Ich habe ein Foto mit One, aber ehrlich gesagt ist das viel zu peinlich um hier gepostet zu werden :D

ONE[/caption]Definately the freaking best thing was the FOOD! I was creeping from one table to the other just to wangle them all their fruits höhö.
Definitiv das absolut beste war das ESSEN! Ich bin von Tisch zu Tisch 'gecreept' und hab jedem die Früchte abgeluchst höhö. (Beim Creepen trifft man die tollsten Leute) (creepen wäre in diesem Fall auffälliges Schleichen)

FOOD[/caption]I said it earlier, but I have to say it again, it's really easy to get in contact with people here at AIU, even if you're shy. Just smile politely and someone's going to talk with you! Sometimes even if you're looing rather unhappy ;)
Normally I'm not shy at all, but this new life here and the atmosphere and with the language barrier leading ahead, I'm rather intimidated (I hear your laughter friends....), as I do have problems not only with japanese but with english, too -what you probably already recognized - but hopefully I'll have the chance to improve, and to feel more comfortable here! Sometimes it's difficult to not get run down by louder, more hyper other exhange students, be prepared!
Ich hab es bereits schon einmal gesagt, aber ich muss es noch einmal sagen; es ist sehr leicht, mit anderen Studenten in Kontakt zu kommen, hier an der AIU, auch wenn man eher ein bisschen schüchtern ist. Einfach freundlich lächeln und es wird einen schon jemand ansprechen. Manchmal auch, wenn man nicht ganz so glücklich guckt ;)
Im Normalfall bin ich nicht wirklich schüchtern, aber das neue Leben hier, die Atmosphäre und allen voran, die Sprachbarriere schüchtern mich ziemlich ein (Ich höre euer Lachen, Freunde...), da ich nicht nur Probleme mit Japanisch habe, sondern auch mit Englisch, was man eventuell bemerkt haben könnte, aber hoffentlich habe ich hier die Chance, mich zu verbessern und mich hier ein bisschen wohler zu fühlen! Es ist manchmal sehr schwer, nicht von den lauteren und aufgedrehteren Austauschstudenten überrannt zu werden, seid gewarnt!
